Infant Mortality and need for Neonatal Ambulance
With the birth of 25 million children each year India accounts for nearly one fifth of the world’s annual child births. Every minute one of those babies dies. Nearly 46% of all maternal deaths and 40% of neonatal deaths happen during labour or the first 24 hours after birth. Pre-maturity (35%), neonatal infections (33%), birth asphyxia (20%) and congenital malformations (9%) are among the major causes of new-born deaths. Yet, death during and after delivery is largely preventable by enabling access to skilled birth attendants and emergency obstetric care.
Neonatal emergencies commonly appear either at the time of birth or during the in-hospital post-birth. Delivery points in rural areas lack NICUs to address emergency care. The delayed NICU and ventilation causes potential damage to neonate. Emergency transportation is required for immediate incubation.
Our Objective
-
Reduce Neonatal mortality to 12 per 1000 live births to meet the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)
-
Reduce under-5 mortality to 25 per 1000 live births to meet the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
-
Providing ventilation and incubation to all reported cases through making emergency transport systems available 24/7
-
Improve the childcare and health services in the area by at least 50% through health awareness and mother and child health services.
